Align Stakeholders, Accelerate Success

Participants learned strategic influence, stakeholder management, and tackled HR challenges like talent retention and workforce diversity.

LSF Global was engaged by an international client with a network of 11 schools spanning Mainland China, Bangkok, Japan, and Hong Kong to design and facilitate a transformative 2-day HR Conference. The conference aimed to equip the client’s HR leaders with the mindsets and skillsets necessary to drive HR transformation and become strategic business partners within their organisation.

To ensure the conference addressed the most pressing HR concerns, LSF Global conducted a focus group survey with delegates and a digital survey to gather insights. This comprehensive approach allowed us to refine the program to meet the specific needs of the participants.

For Day 2 of the conference, LSF Global was entrusted with delivering experiential workshops and practical incubation sessions. We focused on enhancing influential leadership skills for HR leaders, helping them cultivate impactful strategies for organisational success, and equipping them with insights on emerging HR issues and the future readiness of HR functions.

Our customised approach aimed to create an engaging, hands-on environment, allowing delegates to apply their learning immediately and walk away with actionable strategies for transforming their HR practices. By fostering collaboration and trust, we aimed to bridge gaps between HR and academic teams, helping the organisation move toward a future of cohesive, strategic leadership.

Challenges

The challenges faced by the Client:

  • Diverse Workforce with Varying Levels of Sophistication
With 70% expatriates and 30% local employees, the organization experiences cultural differences and varying levels of professional exposure. This creates challenges in work expectations, communication styles, and team integration, requiring a strong inclusivity strategy.
  • Lack of Trust and Ownership
Employees struggle with accountability and engagement, often hesitating to take initiative due to unclear expectations, cultural gaps, or leadership challenges. This results in a passive work environment and reduced collaboration.
  • Gaps in Assertive Communication and Holistic Strategies
The organization lacks strong, assertive communication, leading to misunderstandings and misalignment between teams. Additionally, a reactive rather than proactive approach to strategy-making hinders long-term success.
  • Need for Enhanced Strategic HR Skills
HR professionals need to move beyond administrative tasks and adopt a strategic role. Skills such as workforce planning, leadership development, and talent management are critical to aligning human capital with business goals.
  • Limited Collaboration Between HR and Academic Staff
A disconnect between HR and academic staff leads to inefficiencies in faculty management, talent retention, and policy implementation. Without closer communication, HR initiatives may fail to meet the unique needs of academic professionals.
