Each participant left with defined key takeaways, personal action items, and an accountability partner to sustain the learning journey beyond the workshop.
The workshop opened with an engaging ice-breaker before participants shared their own learning expectations. The key differences between leaders and managers were explored across multiple perspectives using case studies — helping delegates understand the importance of balancing both roles effectively depending on the situation and the people they lead.
Participants were introduced to the two dimensions of managing individuals effectively — Skills and Will and the four combinations that emerge from them. Split into four groups, delegates worked through case studies to explore how to adapt their management style accordingly. Interactive role plays reinforced the application of each approach in real workplace scenarios.
This session explored personal motivation factors alongside the 8 levels of needs giving participants a self-assessment to identify what drives both themselves and their team members. The facilitator also discussed organisational motivation factors and facilitated a partner coaching session, enabling participants to practice motivational conversations in a safe, structured environment.
The final session focused on the principle of stating the Why before the What explored across Business, Outcome, Process, and Personal contexts. A role play and video discussion reinforced the concept, followed by a deeper conversation on Ownership, Accountability, and Responsibility. The workshop concluded with participants identifying key takeaways, action items, and an accountability partner to support their ongoing leadership journey.
