Organization Culture Change

Facilitating the adoption of The Beauty Company Guiding Principles, Competencies and Behavior across Senior, Middle and Staff across the company in Hong Kong.

The Beauty Company

The Skin & Beauty Product Company has been working on its medium-to-long term strategy called VISION 2020, under its mission to inspire a life of beauty and culture. The company aim to continuously earn the support of stakeholders, now and 100 years in the future and to be a Global winner with heritage.

The company positioned the first half of VISION 2020 (2015-17) as a time for rebuilding their business foundation. During this period, they comprehensively resolved issues both in Japan and overseas, while aggressively investing in marketing. As a result, in 2017, Company achieved net sales of over ¥1 trillion, a target originally set for 2020. Operating income also grew and reached its highest level ever. In 2018, the first year of the second half of VISION 2020, they began implementation of a new strategy to accelerate growth. Under this plan, they deployed their brand strategy to respond to the needs of local consumers in each region, while continuing with aggressive marketing investment.

As a part of their VISION 2020, Company wanted to conduct training for their Hong Kong staff members to reinforce their Trust 8 Principles and HK Competencies Model. LSF helped in their initiative to train more than 250 Hong Kong employees.

Our Trainers

Business Goals

  • The timeline was extremely challenging to develop the Workshop Modules for:
    a) Senior Management
    b) Middle Managers
    c) The Whole Staff
  • The language used was both English and Cantonese (for staff).
  • There were changes in the recently introduced Competencies, which could lead to staff confusion.
  • Finally bringing the Culture, Vision, Values, Principles and Competencies to life with Practice sessions was very challenging.

LSF's Solution

  • Aalok Gupta our Master Trainer & Project Lead worked with company to deliver the learning journey, as the development design proposed by LSF promised behavioral competency development which:
    a) was easily scalable,
    b) provided a simulated environment for safe learning,
    c) blended classroom interventions with virtual videos and mobile based learning, to ensure continuous engagement.
  • The design also provided gamified Learning and Mobile application to integrate process specific content.
  • For behavioral competency development, a blended-learning approach was used, which comprised of simulation-driven, classroom-based intervention, engaging videos, and assessments on a mobile platform, to cater to the two groups of learners.
